Description
Since our first groups started in the 1980s, over 9,000 men in or around Duluth, MN have been through our 27-week nonviolence program, Creating a Process of Change for Men Who Batter. We have recruited and trained over 75 local professionals and community members to facilitate groups in our community – in person and virtually. We have weathered staffing and leadership changes in local partnerships. We have tried new things, made some mistakes, and carried on in recognition that survivors need and want someone in the community to help their partners change.
Throughout this time, we have also trained many of you! Over 12,000 professionals from around the world have attended at least one of our many trainings on Creating a Process of Change for Men Who Batter, whether in person or virtually.
And we know you want more on the practical scaffolding that supports an effective and sustainable nonviolence program, more time to connect with others doing this work, more opportunities to share information, discuss emerging issues, and develop effective strategies.
Join us for our first Community of Practice session!Â
Enrollment, Intake, and Orientation
December 2, 2026
2:00 – 3:30 pm Central time
We’ll introduce key concepts and time-tested strategies, then open the floor for questions, discussion, and shared problem-solving. Bring your curiosity, your experience, and your toughest questions. The conversation is just as important as the content. Together we can build community, nurture connections, and deepen our collective commitment to end violence against women.
Who will benefit from this session?
This session is designed to build DAIP’s community of practice with community-based, nonviolence program coordinators and facilitators using and implementing Creating a Process of Change for Men Who Batter.
